WebLabs

Overview: 

WebLabs is an extension service of Cooperative Lab Management (CLM) that provides remote access to classroom and lab resources via a web browser.

Connecting

WebLabs is available at: https://weblabs.psu.edu. Scan the Locations KB article to see if your campus or college is offering computer lab access via WebLabs.

 

Enrolling

Before submitting a request to enroll in WebLabs, your CLM systems must meet the following minimum criteria:

  • Firewalls
  • CLM Mandatory Settings GPO
    • All systems must apply the global L7-CLM-Global Mandatory Settings group policy object, which contains mandatory security settings and configurations.
  • Remote Desktop Users
    • The local Remote Desktop Users user groups may not contain global groups (e.g., PSU-Users, Domain Users, Authenticated Users, Everyone)

Eligibility: 

  • WebLabs is for students and faculty who require remote access to Penn State technology resources to complete coursework.
  • WebLabs is not authorized for use by staff, retirees, guests, researchers, or other non-teaching and learning affiliations.

Requirements: 

  • Students and faculty must have an official student or faculty affiliation status with the University as well as a campus affiliation with your campus, as well as an active Enterprise Active Directory (EAD) account to use WebLabs.
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) is required to ensure the security of Penn State users and Penn State resources. Our Penn State Labs RDP integration has bypass turned off (denying access to anyone not enrolled in 2FA).
